Since we opened our doors in 2002, the kitchen at ZuZu has always offered a delicious and creative assortment of tapas, inspired by the cuisines of Spain and South America. Our paella is the menu item that has really developed its own identity at off-site events. A ZuZu Wood Fired Paella catered lunch or dinner featuring our oak wood and grapevine-fired paella is an occasion no guest will soon forget.
The word paella refers to both the Valencian rice dish and the shallow metal pan used to cook it. The rustic pans are constructed in a variety of sizes, some measuring feet across. It’s these larger sizes that allow us to cook for up to a thousand guests. When fired live over oak and grapevines, ZuZu’s paella is a dramatic and entertaining process, and being a cooking method that centers on an aromatic, open fire, it’s highly engaging.
In Valencia and other parts of Spain, rabbit, chicken, sausage, seafood, and fresh produce are traditional paella ingredients, along with Bomba rice, the ancient Spanish variety that is the foundation of the dish. Here in Napa, we source rabbit from Devils Gulch Ranch, chicken from Pitman Family Farms, chorizo sausage from Fatted Calf, and organic vegetables and heirloom tomatoes from our own gardens just across the Napa River.

ZuZu Paella is our California version of Spain’s most iconic dish.
All of our fresh ingredients, including seafood, are sourced from local purveyors. Equally important, we use Bomba rice for authenticity and the incredible depth of flavor it offers. The combination of the live-fire process and extraordinary ingredients results in a complex layering of flavor and smoke that borders on the sublime for guests at parties and special events.

Market Veggies, Tomatoes as well as Spanish Bomba Rice, Olive Oil, Pimenton del la Vera and a Saffron Saffritto.
TAPAS & SALADS We can also provide an assortment of tapas including ZuZu’s Ceviche, Jamon Iberico, Tortilla, Empanadas and salads to accompany the paella.
ZuZu PAELLA DELIVERY & PICK-UP ZuZu paellas can be delivered to the greater Napa area for 10-person portion or more.
Pricing starts at $16 per person plus a deposit on the paella pan.
We do offer limited pick-up times for the paella at the restaurant as well.
*We bring a minimum of two chefs to cook the live-fire paella serving the paella from the paella pan. All other service including table service, beverage & wine service is the responsibility of the host.
